At Jurist & Company Pvt. Ltd., we have always believed that excellence knows no single domain. Since our founding in 2009 BS by Mr. Sudha Nath Pant, and shaped further by Senior Advocate Sushil Kumar Pant, our firm has stood for integrity, perseverance, and going beyond what is expected — whether inside the courtroom or far beyond it.

Today, we celebrate a historic triumph. We are profoundly honoured to announce that our esteemed colleague and full-time litigation Advocate, Mr. Sudhigya Pant, has successfully scaled Mount Everest — the highest peak on Earth. He stood victorious at the summit at 8,848.86 metres (29,031.7 feet) on 20 May 2026, at 11:25 AM — a moment that will be remembered by everyone at this firm for years to come.

The Journey Begins: Departure on 12 April 2026

Sudhigya’s expedition began on 12 April 2026 from Kathmandu, and he set off for the Everest region via the Khumbu Valley, following the classic South Col route — the legendary path first conquered by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa in 1953. Transitioning from legal briefs and courtroom advocacy to ice axes and extreme high-altitude mountaineering, his preparation demanded immense physical conditioning, mental fortitude, and careful planning over many weeks.

Before any summit attempt, climbers must condition their bodies to extreme altitude through rigorous rotational climbs between camps — ascending, acclimatising, and returning to Base Camp to rest before pushing higher. Advocate Pant undertook this demanding preparation with the same methodical discipline and commitment he brings to complex litigation matters every day.

The Route: Camp by Camp

The South Col route is as demanding as it is legendary. Here is how the ascent unfolded through four high camps:

Base Camp 5,364m

The expedition hub in the Khumbu Valley. Training, acclimatisation, traditional puja ceremonies for blessings, and final equipment preparation all took place here before any move onto the mountain.

Camp 1 ~6,065m

Reached by navigating the notorious Khumbu Icefall — a constantly shifting, treacherous maze of seracs, crevasses, and towering ice blocks that is arguably the most dangerous section of the entire route. Camp 1 sits above this chaos on the Western Cwm snowfield.

Camp 2 – Advanced Base Camp ~6,400m

Positioned at the foot of the towering southwest face of Everest. Multiple nights were spent here to allow the body to adapt to air containing roughly half the oxygen levels found at sea level.

Camp 3 ~7,200m

Perched on the near-vertical Lhotse Face, where tents are anchored directly into steep ice. Supplemental oxygen is introduced here, and every single step demands immense physical and mental strength.

Camp 4 – South Col ~7,920m

The final staging ground before the summit push. Located in the infamous “Death Zone” above 8,000m, where the human body begins to deteriorate rapidly. Climbers rest briefly here before embarking on a brutal 10-to-16-hour round-trip to the summit and back.

Advocate Sudhigya Pant reached the top of the world — the highest point on Earth — overcoming every obstacle the mountain placed before him. The summit is his.

“Whether he is meticulously managing complex litigation matters at office or navigating the hazardous terrain of the Himalayas, Sudhigya continues to prove that with dedication, no peak is too high to conquer.”
